Let’s be honest, there’s a lot of dissatisfaction with regard to the worldwide rollout of artificial intelligence, some of which I believe is misdirected fears, but some are certainly not unfounded ones.
There are also many opportunities that didn’t exist before AI, but also many downsides that need addressing with regard to power and water usage, e.g., environmental pollution.
That said, no one knows where the future is really going. Maybe it’s a bubble, or maybe it’s a revolution, but for me it’s one I can’t ignore, and I must make my own choices so I’m not left behind. That's a responsibility to myself and of myself as a business owner.
This leads me to deciding to develop an agentic social network for my characters powered by persona datasets; agents will represent themselves as the characters and update the social profiles and engage with other agent characters across the network based on what's happened in the shows, movies, and other media sources.
Random WIP Artwork:
This is just a quick work‑in‑progress model of a Turquoise Bottle and Stand I’ve been experimenting with. It’s not related to the post itself, I just like showing you some of my human created art, by dropping in whatever’s on my desk to break up the text and keep the Dispatch feeling like a real studio log. https://www.bokunofanservice.com/search/agentic+fandom/
All of which will be syndicated through the network of apps and services when and where people request to be notified. It is entirely possible that no one will want this, as the pushback on AI is fierce, but I believe it's worth developing, and if it's always opt-in, I don't fear wasting my time working on developing it.
It’s going to be called 'agentic fandom' (https://agenticfandom.com) and is also somewhat of an experiment in content delivery and static website design. As mentioned previously, this is also something META is working towards having AI agents and other robots have profiles on Facebook.
I got the idea from the Reddit-style agent-only social website that META just bought to integrate into its own services, Moltbook.
To start this up, I’ll likely be using just one Mac mini to run the character agents, and if successful, I’ll look to scale the characters and infrastructure I run them on as my shows and movie worlds grow.
I’m essentially building an agentic character dataset engine.
Next Steps:
- Create a repo
- Setup the network
- Write more about the project
