Ten dispatch posts is a milestone indeed, and I find writing full articles to be hard to start with, but writing a short dispatch is less stressful and has a meaningful rhythm, and collectively I'm building up a body of work and an outpouring of my thoughts on things I'm planning, working towards or have finished, and I hope people find some value in them.
I also believe that unless it's something highly technical, you or any audience I receive would prefer their time not to be wasted, so a short dispatch might be the ideal format to match other short-format content like tweets, shorts, and Tiktoks I'm interested in making in the future.
Today I'd like to announce a new character I'm adding to my originals and to talk briefly about a domain I bought for it. His name is going to be Patrick Lepus. Lepus is Latin for "hare", so it essentially means he's called Patrick Hare.
In biology, Lepus is the genus that includes "true hares," distinguishing them from rabbits within the Leporidae family.

I'd like to put more Latin into my work, but as it stands, my whole ecosystem vocabulary is full of Latin roots anyway. I'm also English with a long-standing heritage, and I have some plans towards using more of this in my work to represent my culture and my cultural interests like Steampunk, but I will save that for future posts.
I don't have any concept art or any idea of how this character will develop at this stage. Patrick will, though, be one of my originals not tied to any direct show or movie, and I'll add him to the collective hosting I have for originals probably tomorrow. The website will be live at https://patricklepus.com, and when I have finished the template for characters, I will roll him out with his concept art and eventually 3D embed from Sketchfab.
I look forward to reveling more development on Patrick, and I hope you all check back in to see him evolve into a true Furtain original anthropomorphic character.
